Gender Equality, Sexual Harassment and Violence survey in 39 countries | Edition 2022
Argentine women continue to be at the top of the suffering of violence global ranking. In this new edition of the survey, a slight increase in the incidence of sexual harassment was detected in Argentina, compared to the previous year results.
WIN International, the world's leading market research and public opinion association, and Voices! Research & Consultancy conducted a global survey exploring the opinions of 33,236 people in 39 countries around the world on gender equality, sexual harassment, and violence. The report has comparative data from 2018.
Some findings of the study:
- Psychological or physical violence: Argentina, Mexico and Chile lead the global ranking in terms of the proportion of women who report having been victims of physical or psychological violence in the last 12 months. The youngest segment is the one that declares, to a greater extent, to have experienced some type of violence.
- Sexual harassment: the percentage remains stable at a global level, but in Argentina there is an upward trend in the proportion of women who report having suffered this type of aggression. This statement is increasing among younger women.
- Argentines perceive lower levels of equality at work and at home than the global average. In contrast, the perception of equality in the political sphere is higher in our country than the global average.
- Women believe that job and career opportunities are less for them than for men.
