Opinion about environmental issues
Eighty-five percent of Argentines say they are very or fairly concerned about environmental issues.
The Social Research Center (CIS) UADE Voices! carried out a new national public opinion study with the aim of understanding the perceptions, opinions and practices of Argentines regarding the care of the environment.
Some findings of the study:
- Concern about the issue has grown substantially in the last year. While in 2018, 51% of the population acknowledged that they cared very much about the issue, that percentage rose to 60% at the time of measurement in 2019.
- 8 out of 10 Argentines rate the environmental situation in the world negatively and more than half are pessimistic about its future.
- For half the population, the views of political candidates on environmental issues are important when voting.
- 9 out of 10 Argentines (90%) consider that companies do little or nothing for the environment.
