40th Annual Global End of Year Survey

45% of the Argentinians have optimistic perspectives regarding 2017. However, this result has decreased when compared with last year.

End of the Year Survey conducted by Voices! In Argentina and the international network WIN that it’s conducted annually since 1977 and explores the perspectives, expectations, views and beliefs of people in 66 countries for the year ahead.

Some findings of the study:

  • When asked whether in general terms 2017 is going to be better or worse than 2016, the majority of the planet (52%) feels that next year will be better than the one that ends; and 15% believe it will be worse.
  • In Argentina, optimism is maintained, but it is much more moderate than the one observed the previous year.
  • Regarding the economic projections for 2017, 42% of the world's inhabitants are optimistic; 22% are pessimistic and 31% believe that the economy will remain the same. The most optimistic countries regarding economic prosperity in 2017 are Ghana (73%) and Bangladesh (81%). In contrast, South Korea, Hong Kong and Greece are the most pessimistic (66%, 64% and 59% respectively).
  • Argentina is below the world average of optimism (36% declare that in 2017 there will be an economic improvement) but above the Latin American average.
