Argentines and Family Planning
The Social Research Centre (CIS) UADE VOICES! conducted a new nationwide public opinion survey with the aim of understanding the attitudes and perspectives of Argentines regarding family planning, the essential aspects for living a plentiful life and other related issues.
Some findings of the study:
- 38% of respondents stated that they have defined concrete goals and objectives for their future. Another 36% said they have thoughts about it sometimes, but have not defined it, and the remaining 26% said they prefer to live life as it is.
- More than a third of the population consider that there is no "best age" to become a parent. Almost eight out of 10 Argentines agreed with a mother having children after the age of forty, while a similar percentage (82%) agreed with a father having a child after that age.
- Half of the Argentines said that 2 children would constitute an "ideal" family, while a third said that it should consist of 3 or more children.
- Both the use of assisted fertilization techniques and paternity and maternity are widely accepted among the population.
