Internet as media

Four out of ten argentineans use internet to be informed on politics.

In 2015 VOICES! Research and Consultancy published the results of various national population surveys to better understand the use of the Internet, making a focus on its use with respect to politics, as 2015 was an election year.

Some findings of the study:

  • Although there are social differences among Internet users, in the last five years there has been a significant growth in the sectors that are lagging behind.
  • There is a majority opinion that new mobile technologies improve the quality of life.
  • The importance of the Internet as a source of political information is growing and Facebook is becoming one of the main sources after the online newspapers.
  • The use of the Internet can mobilize new people to participate politically.
