Opinions about fiscal responsibility and tax evasion in Argentina
There is a high level of agreement regarding the fact that taxes in the country are "high or very high". The lack of money is the main excuse of the Argentineans for tax evasion.
The Social Research Centre (CIS) UADE – Voices! carried out a national public opinion study with the aim of getting to know the views of the population on the tax burden, evasion and other unfair practices in the country.
- There is a high level of consensus that taxes in the country are 'high or very high' (82%).
- 7 out of 10 Argentinians understand that there are too many taxes in the country (68%) and another almost 3 out of 10 (27%) indicate that there is the necessary amount of taxes.
- Almost 6 out of 10 of those interviewed state that they comply with 'all' their tax obligations (57%), 3 out of 10 say that they pay a large part, 1 out of 10 that pay little and 3% that admit not paying 'anything'.
