Study on social capital: confidence in different groups of society.

8 out of 10 survey respondents consider we must be cautious when it comes to others.

The Social Research Centre (CIS) UADE - Voices! carried out a national public opinion study with the aim of analysing the confidence that exists in society in different collectives or groups of people.

Some findings of the study:

• There is greater confidence in professions linked to education and health, followed by sport, music, intellectual activities and activities in the immediate surroundings like the the neighbourhood.
• The vast majority (96%) said that they trusted their family very much or quite a lot and the 84% of Argentinians trust their friends.
• 65% trust their neighbours very much or quite a lot.
• The worst evaluated groups are politicians in which 90% distrust, trade unionists (89%), civil servants (84%), business owners (83%) and judges (81%).
• 7 out of 10 interviewees said that people tend to think more for their own benefit.
