The Argentinian kiosk

The Argentinian kiosk

The Argentinian kiosk strengthens: 8 out of 10 Argentinians visit the kiosk at least once a week; and almost half of them do so every day or almost every day (vs. 29% in 2013).

Voices! Research & Consultancy carried out a national research to know the role of the kiosk in consumption: how many times do Argentinians visit a kiosk? What do they buy? What is the link with the kiosk?

Some findings of the study:

  • In a country where there are more than 100,000 registered kiosks - that is, approximately one per 400 inhabitants - the kiosk is a weekly stop for national consumption.
  • Although the purchase of products is the main reason for visiting, other services lead to position this channel as a multi-service.
  • In addition, it is not only a sweet stop: certain segments such as the low socioeconomic level and those who live in the countryside, have it as a point of purchase of products of first necessity; and the great majority recognizes it as the store of long ago.
  • The man who works at the kiosk is positioned with an active role in the life of Argentinians, who maintain a more than cordial relationship with this actor of their community.
